Picture this… You’re strolling the idyllic grounds of Bloom farm in South Frontenac . Birds are chirping. The smell of fresh cut grass fills your nose. Chickens are roaming around you. Friends are mingling. Literally idillic blue sky with fluffy white clouds above you. There's delicious drink in your hand and you're heading over to one of the booths where a renown chef has prepared a unique dish for you from a local farm. The Farmer greets you, hands you a mouth-watering plate of organic food straight from their farm and you head over to the shade of the dining tent where you get to chat with other locals while enjoying a pickle tasting! Now imagine if I told you that's your JOB!? I cannot believe I'm lucky enough to say that this is my reality. Thanks to Tarra at Bloom Farm and the Frontenac Farmer's Market, I was the photographer at this amazing local event called Gather: Frontenac.

The idea behind Gather was to support farmers in our community while educating the public on local food and I would say they did just that. Gather was a true farm to table experience. Not only did they source ingredients right from the farmers, these same people who grow the food were onsite to chat with you! At each station I got to speak with the farmers and food and drink producers from the area (and snap a fun photo). I asked questions and learned all about their products. And the food and drink creations from the winner of Fire Master Challenge on the Food Network, Elisa Corrigan, were to die for. I think my favourite had to be the lion's mane mushroom tacos from Mark's Mushrooms. I am beyond excited to see what happens with this event next year. I could hardly believe this was its first year of existence. If you didn't end up going, I absolutely recommend marking your calendars for next September. It was the perfect fall activity for foodies and anyone who loves to shop local. And in the meantime, go give these beauties a follow and fill your feed with local deliciousness. Maybe I'll see you at the Frontenac Farmer's Market soon!
