Picture this… You’re strolling the idyllic grounds of Bloom farm in South Frontenac . Birds are chirping. The smell of fresh cut grass fills your nose. Chickens are roaming around you. Friends are mingling. Literally idillic blue sky with fluffy white clouds above you. There’s delicious drink in your hand and you’re heading over to one of the booths where a renown chef has prepared a unique dish for you from a local farm. The Farmer greets you, hands you a mouth-watering plate of organic food straight from their farm and you head over to the shade of the dining tent where you get to chat with other locals while enjoying a pickle tasting! Now imagine if I told you that’s your JOB!?

I cannot believe I’m lucky enough to say that this is my reality since I was asked to be the photographer at South Frontenac’s first ever farm to table event. Thanks to Tarra at Bloom Farm and the Frontenac Farmer’s Market, I got to photograph the lovely food and people at Gather: Frontenac.

What’s behind “Gather”

The idea behind Gather: Frontenac was to support farmers in our community while educating the public on local food and I would say they did just that. Gather was a true farm to table experience. Not only did they source ingredients right from the farmers, these same people who grow the food were onsite to chat with you! At each station I got to speak with the farmers and food and drink producers from the area (and snap a fun photo). I asked questions and learned all about their products. And the food and drink creations from the winner of Fire Master Challenge on the Food Network, Elisa Corrigan, were to die for. My favourite had to be the lion’s mane mushroom tacos from Mark’s Mushrooms.

I am beyond excited to see what happens with this event next year. I could hardly believe this was its first year of existence. If you didn’t end up going, I absolutely recommend marking your calendars for next September. It was the perfect fall activity for foodies and anyone who loves to shop local. And in the meantime, go give these beauties a follow and fill your feed with local deliciousness. Maybe I’ll see you at the Frontenac Farmer’s Market soon!

If you’re looking for a photographer for your upcoming event send me a message here. I love documenting community events!

RED TRUCK SESSIONS

Most couples book 12–18 months out, especially for peak summer and fall dates around Kingston. That said, I do occasionally have last-minute availability — it never hurts to reach out. The sooner we connect, the better chance we have of making it work.

How far in advance should I book?

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you travel outside Kingston?

Absolutely. I love to travel and I regularly shoot throughout Eastern Ontario including Prince Edward County, Belleville, Napanee, and beyond. Travel fees may apply depending on distance — just ask when you inquire and I'll give you a straight answer.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's included in my wedding package?

Every package includes a complimentary engagement session, full high-resolution edited images delivered to a private online gallery with unlimited downloads, sneak peeks within a week, and me — fully present and genuinely invested in your day from start to finish. I always try to include an second shooter, depending on availability and how far out you book.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many photos will we receive?

It depends on the length of your coverage and what unfolds on the day, but you'll never receive a thin gallery. All of my clients will tell you I'm an over-shooter and I'd rather over-deliver than leave you wondering where a moment went.

Frequently Asked Questions

how long will it take to get our photos back?

You'll get sneak peeks quickly after your wedding so you're not waiting in suspense. Full galleries are delivered with a turnaround time that lets me give every image the attention it deserves — I'll give you a specific timeline when we book so you always know what to expect.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's your shooting style?

Warm, real, and genuine. I focus on emotion and connection over stiff poses — the nervous laugh before the ceremony, the way your partner looks at you when you're not watching, the dancing that happens after everyone thinks the photos are done. I'll give you gentle direction when you need it and get out of the way when you don't.

Frequently Asked Questions

We're nervous in front of the camera. Is that okay?

It's actually my favourite kind of couple to work with. As a core French teacher, I've spent years learning how to make people feel comfortable in situations where they'd rather be anywhere else. By the end of their engagement session, most of my couples tell me it felt like we were all just hanging out with friends — and that's exactly when the best photos happen.

Do you shoot LGBTQ+ weddings?

Yes, wholeheartedly and without reservation. Love is love and every couple deserves to have their story told beautifully.

How do we officially book you?

A signed contract and a retainer hold your date. Until both are in place, your date is still available to other couples — so if you're feeling it, let's make it official. Reach out through the contact page and we'll take it from there.
